1893 Sukejiro Kaihara established a private indigo kasuri weaving (38 cm) manufacturing business under the trademark ス in Tsune, Shinichi-cho, Ashina-gun (present-day Fukuyama City), Hiroshima Prefecture
1951 Established Kaihara Textile Mills Ltd. with a capital investment of 1.8 million yen and 34 looms

1954 Independently developed a submerged wringing automatic indigo dye machine (patent approved)
1956 Developed the world’s first 36-inch (90 cm) wide broad kasuri fabric using an electric loom (Trademark: Nichibo Cony)
1961 Developed the world’s first 48-inch (122 cm) wide kasuri sarong material, and exported traditional dress sarongs to Middle East Aden (Sarong: Long-skirt type breechcloth)
1962 Started production of narrow wool kasuri fabric made of wool materials for the first time in the Bingo area (Trademark: Nichibo Wool Kasuri)
Capital increase by Dainippon Spinners Co., Ltd. with a 20 million yen capital participation
Established Kaiharasangyo Co., Ltd. (Capital: 1 million yen)
1965 Established the Hirohaba Kasuri Cooperative Association (Capital: 1 million yen)
1968 L/C stop by political uncertainty in Middle East Aden and British Pound devaluations, led to overstocked inventory of kasuri sarong (equivalent to the volume of about a one-year stock)
1969 L/C stopped again and kasuri sarong production discontinued
1970 Inauguration of Satoru Kaihara as CEO and Sadaharu Kaihara as President
First delivery of cheese-dyed indigo denim
Independently developed a consecutive indigo dyeing machine (Rope Dyeing Machine No. 1), and delivered rope-dyed denim for the first time to the Japanese market
1973 Established Joge Mills
1974 Established Deny Co., Ltd. (Capital: 50 million yen) (A fifty-fifty joint venture by Unitika, Ltd. and Kaihara Textile Mills Ltd.) Full operation started using 68 looms of Toyota Gu8 weaving machines
1975 Concluded a Pollution Prevention Agreement with the Shinichi-cho
Completed a drainage disposal system utilizing activated sludge processing
1976 Completed a drainage disposal system utilizing activated sludge processing
Achieved 100,000 tan (bolts: roughly 36 cm ´ 11.5 m) of monthly production by rope dyeing machines, accounting for 75% of domestic production
1977 Rope Dyeing Machine No. 8 completed
Recorded an all-time high of 120,000 tan (bolts) of monthly production by rope dyeing machines
1978 Completed construction of the Kisa Mill, commenced denim production using Sulzer machines(120 machines)
1980 Finishing machines were introduced at the Kisa Mill (to complete a fully integrated denim production line, from dyeing to weaving to finishing)
1982 Established a Weaving Division at the Joge Mill and added Sulzer machines to make a total of 120 (Operation of 336 machines for the entire Group)
1989 Opened the Tokyo Office(Koto-ku)
Brought in KAPSS (Customer Administration Production Scheduling System) at the Head Office, the Kisa, and the Joge Mills

1991 Built the Spinning Factory in the Kisa Mill and commenced the OE thread spinning line

Company name changed from Kaihara Textile Mills Ltd. to Kaihara Corporation
1992 Held the Kaihara Corporation 100th Anniversary Ceremony and installed a commemorative stone
1993 Commenced the ring yarn spinning line at the Kisa Mill
1994 Commenced full production of vintage denim using narrow shuttle looms
1996 Opened the Kaihara Historical Museum
2000 Built the Warping and Dyeing Factories in the Kisa Mill
Established Marusu Kou Co., Ltd. (Capital: 50 million yen)
Obtained all shares of Kaihara Corporation stocks owned by Unitika
2003 Inauguration of Sadaharu Kaihara as Consultant, Yoshiharu Kaihara as CEO, and Junji Kaihara as President
2004 With the corporate reorganization, Kaihara became the distribution company and Kaiharasangyo became the manufacturing company
Achieved an accumulated total length of 1 million km of rope-dyed material
2005 Kaiharasangyo merged with Deny Co., Ltd. by absorption, and changed the company name to KAIHARA Co., Ltd.
Built the Weaving Factory in Sanwa Mill
2008 Built the Spinning Factory in Sanwa Mill
2009 KAIHARA Co., Ltd. merged with Hirohaba Kasuri Cooperative
