CERTIFICATIONS
Environmental certification acquired by KAIHARA
We promote sustainability by using raw materials certified by BCI cotton and Organic Cotton. BCI cotton is a raw material produced friendly to both of the environment and local economy. Our factories itselves are certified by a high-level safety standard certificate. We are also working on getting a certification for producing recycle products.
Global Organic Textile Standard
The 「Global Organic Textile Standard(GOTS)」is the standard for manufacturing products in an environmentally and socially responsible manner throughout the entire process from raw materials to finished products. We are promoting responsible manufacturing in compliance with GOTS.
Organic Content Standard
The 「Organic Content Standard/OCS」 verifies organically grown content and tracks it from the source to the final product. Products certified to the Organic Content Standard(OCS) contain organically grown material that has been independently verified at each stage of the supply chain, from to the finished product.
Recycled Claim Standard
The Recycled Claim Standard(RCS) verifies the percentage of recycled material and tracks it from the source to the final product. Products certified to the Recycled Claim Standard Blended (RCS Blended) contain Between 5-94% certified recycled material.
Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX
This certificate ensures certified products are guaranteed chemical safety. The standard requires strict test following more than 350 hazardous substances, which cover global standards. OEKO-TEX is well-known over 100 countries and is also recognized as an index of safety among business transaction and consumer purchase.
U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol
This is the system that measures quantitative assessment of cotton agriculture. Over 100 fiber or apparel companies in Japan including KAIHARA, became members. The protocol shares environmental impacts on harvesting to promote transparency and traceability in supply-chain.
Better Cotton Initiative
BCI is the world's largest cotton sustainability programme. It aims to make cotton production better for people, the environment and communities where it is grown, and ensures a responsible use of cotton.
